FAMOUS SHOTGUN INSTRUCTOR BRINGS AWWC PROGRAM |
| The
GAME BAG | | | |
Leon Measures is no fool. When he takes someone's money and says he'll give it
back if they don't become a better shotgun shooter, he knows if he doesn't make
good, he'll owe a refund. So far, he's never had to give any money back! |
| He
lives in Livingston, but is known in many places far from home. He and his unique
"Shoot Where You Look" formula of shotgunning have been the subject of articles
in "Sports Afield," "Outdoor Life," "Guns and Ammo," and "North American Hunter."
He has been talked about on "The Tonight Show," ESPN, Fox Sports Southwest, at
Luther Young's B-Bar-B Ranch and at Wildlife Expo in Austin. Ray Sassar, of the
Dallas Morning News said, "Measures is to shotgunning what Johnny Appleseed was
to fruit trees." He spreads his "shoot where you look" technique anywhere people
want to improve. | |
The first thing he taught me was to never again shoot at a dove. That sounded
serious. When he explained that I was instead to shoot at a beak or a wing or
a foot - where I looked - I felt better. After four hours in class and on the
range with him, I was doing it. And, drat it, so was Vicky. |
